Taken at the Snoqualime Pass

Snoqualmie Pass is situated in the Central Cascades region, approximately 52 miles (84 kilometers) east of Seattle. It lies at an elevation of 3,022 feet (921 meters) above sea level and cuts through the Snoqualmie Mountain range. The pass itself is named after the Snoqualmie tribe, indigenous people who have inhabited the area for centuries.

The Snoqualmie Pass Ski Area, also known as The Summit at Snoqualmie, provides winter sports enthusiasts with access to multiple ski resorts and slopes.

The pass is known for its challenging winter driving conditions, and the Washington State Department of Transportation actively maintains the road to ensure safe travel. In addition, heavy precipitation and fog can occur throughout the year, so it’s important for travelers to check weather and road conditions before heading over the pass.
