Exploring the power of time and patience

Horseshoe Bend is a scenic viewpoint located near the town of Page in northern Arizona, United States. It is named for its horseshoe-shaped bend in the Colorado River, which is visible from the overlook.

The overlook at Horseshoe Bend is located approximately 1,000 feet above the river and provides visitors with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The bend in the river is approximately 270 degrees and is a popular spot for photography, especially during sunrise and sunset.

Horseshoe Bend is located within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and can be accessed via a short hike from a parking lot near US Route 89.

The overlook at Horseshoe Bend was not officially designated as a viewpoint until the 1990s, despite being a popular spot for photographers for many years prior.

The hike is relatively easy, but visitors should be aware that there is no shade along the trail, so it can be very hot during the summer months.
