The beautiful Grand Canyon at Sunset

The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in Arizona, United States. The canyon is famous for its colorful and intricate landscape, which includes layers of red rock that are millions of years old.

This is not the deepest canyon in the world. It is often mistakenly believed to be the deepest canyon, but it is actually the second deepest. The Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon in Tibet is deeper (about 3 times).

The Grand Canyon has its own time zone. The area surrounding the canyon is in the Mountain Standard Time zone, but the park itself follows its own time zone called Grand Canyon Time, which is one hour ahead of Mountain Standard Time.

It was once home to a massive waterfall called the Hopi Falls, which was taller than Niagara Falls. The falls were formed by the ancestral Colorado River but disappeared due to erosion and changes in the river’s path.

The Grand Canyon has a rich cultural history, with evidence of human habitation dating back over 12,000 years.

It is considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. This is the only wonder located in North America and is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world.
