1. The Shard: A 72-storey skyscraper, it is the tallest building in UK. The Shard comprises a 26-floor office complex, occupied by 32 companies across 10 business sectors, 3 restaurants—Aqua Shard, Oblix, and Hutong—the five-star Shangri-La The Shard, London hotel, 10 residential apartments, and the UK’s highest viewing gallery, The View from The Shard.
2. The Tower Bridge: Tower Bridge has become a recognisable London landmark. It is sometimes confused with London Bridge, about 0.5 miles (800 m) upstream, which has led to a persistent urban legend about an American purchasing the wrong bridge. The bridge is part of the London Inner Ring Road and thus the boundary of the London congestion charge zone, and remains an important traffic route with 40,000 crossings every day.
3. The Walkie-Talkie: This is the Fenchurch Building. It has been nicknamed “The Walkie-Talkie” because of its distinctive shape, said to resemble a two-way radio handset. The tower was originally proposed at nearly 200 m (656 ft) tall but its design was scaled down after concerns about its visual impact on the nearby St Paul’s Cathedral and Tower of London. It was subsequently approved in 2006 with the revised height(160m). A bar and restaurants are included on the 35th, 36th and 37th floors; these are, with restrictions, open to the public.
